Challenge for Change

Challenge for Change was established to bring to the UK a best practice behaviour change programme that was originally developed in New Zealand. Following five successful programmes there, Challenge for Change’s founder, Thomas Stokell, created a sustainable business model to grow this programme, to get more people cycling in the UK and across the world.

Their mission is to be world leaders in designing, developing and implementing innovative and highly effective behavioural change programmes that are consistently proven to get more people cycling, more often.

Chamelic products are based on stimulus responsive polymers to serve the coatings and additives markets. The company was formed in early 2006 and has focused on smart coatings, with an easy-clean coating being their first product.

PCRN

The National Institute for Health Research Primary Care Research Network (NIHR PCRN) is a part of the NHS dedicated to expanding clinical research in primary care.

It brings together a wide range of primary care health professionals and promotes high quality research in areas for which primary care has particular responsibility. These include disease prevention, health promotion, screening and early diagnosis, as well as the management of long term conditions, such as arthritis and heart disease.

PCRN supports research that is driven by the priorities of the NHS and the Department of Health, and informed by the views of patients and their carers. Photopharmica

Photopharmica develops light sensitive drugs (known as photosensitisers) for the prevention, detection and treatment of diseases for licensing to pharmaceutical companies. The company is based around photodynamic research performed by the Leeds Centre for Photobiology and Photodynamic therapy in the field of therapeutics.

X-Lab

X-Lab was set up by Leeds University’s programme of Open Innovation in 2007. They are part of the White Rose Health Innovation Partnership and are funded by The University of Leeds Proof of Concept Fund, building on research done in 2006 within the School of Computing. After consultation with several labs in the north of the UK, X-Lab now has a thorough understanding of the problems in the send-away process and throughout pathology and is working on innovative solutions to help solve them.

Yorkshire Process Technology Ltd
